Terms of Use

The rules for using MediaEditAI. In short: the tools are free, your files stay yours, and you are responsible for what you process.

Last updated: August 2026

The short version

The full terms follow. These four points cover the essentials.

Free to use. No account, no watermark, no limit. Results are yours to use commercially.
We claim nothing. Your files never reach us, so we hold no rights over anything you create.
Use it lawfully. Do not unlock documents you do not own or alter records to deceive.
Provided as is. Browser tools have real limits. Always keep your original files.

1Agreement to these terms

These terms govern your use of mediaeditai.com and the tools available on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

2What we provide

MediaEditAI offers a set of free online tools for working with images and PDF documents: converting between formats, compressing to a target size, resizing, editing photos, editing and signing PDFs, removing backgrounds, generating QR codes and favicons, recognising text in images, and related tasks.

All tools run inside your browser. We provide the software; the processing happens on your own device using its resources.

The service is provided free of charge, with no account, no trial period and no watermark on your results. It is funded by advertising.

3Your files remain yours

We claim no ownership and no rights whatsoever over any file you process with our tools. The input is yours, the output is yours, and you may use the results for any purpose, personal or commercial, without attribution or restriction from us.

Because files are processed locally and never transmitted, we do not receive, store or have access to anything you work on. There is no licence for you to grant us, because we never come into possession of your content.

4Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the files you process and for having the right to process them. In particular, you agree not to use MediaEditAI to:

  • Infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property belonging to someone else.
  • Remove a password from a PDF you do not own or are not authorised to access. The unlock tool exists to remove a password you already know from a document you already hold.
  • Alter documents in order to deceive, commit fraud, or misrepresent an official record.
  • Process images of other people in ways that breach their privacy or applicable law.
  • Create or distribute unlawful, harassing or harmful material.
  • Attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its operation, or use automated systems to place excessive load on it.

A note on enforcement. Because processing happens entirely on your device, we have no technical means to monitor what you do with the tools. That makes these responsibilities genuinely yours, and it does not make unlawful use acceptable.

5No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your expectations. Browser-based processing has genuine limitations, which we describe honestly on the relevant pages: automatic background removal is imperfect on difficult subjects, PDF to Word conversion cannot reconstruct every layout, and compression involves trade-offs in quality.

Keep your originals. Many operations are irreversible: compression permanently discards data, and a flattened PDF cannot be unflattened. Always work from a copy and retain the original file.

6Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MediaEditAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site.

This includes, without limitation, damage to or loss of files, results that do not meet your requirements, and any consequence of a document you produced using the tools. Since the tools run on your device and we never receive your files, you retain both control and responsibility for your data.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited in your jurisdiction.

7Advertising and third-party content

The site displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense and its partners. We do not control which advertisements appear, and their presence does not constitute an endorsement by us of the advertiser, its products or its services. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is solely between you and them.

Our guides link to external sites such as Wikipedia for further reading. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of any external site.

Some tools load open-source libraries from third-party content delivery networks. These libraries are downloaded to your device to run locally; your files are never sent to them.

8Intellectual property

The MediaEditAI name, logo, site design, written guides and the code that implements the tools are our property or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and other laws.

You may use the site and its tools freely for their intended purpose. You may not copy, reproduce or republish the site's written content or design as your own, nor present the service as yours.

Several tools are built on open-source software published by third parties under their own licences, which we respect and which remain the property of their authors.

9Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Tools may be added, changed or withdrawn, and the site may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice or liability.

10Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the site is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

Questions about these terms can be sent to mediaeditai7@gmail.com or submitted through our contact page. See also our privacy policy, which explains how information is handled.
